Text Box: American Hotel & Lodging Association Diploma (AHLA) The AHLA is the world’s largest hospitality education organization and its courses are taught in many countries around the world. Each course has a dedicated textbook and associated videos. At the end of the course students sit an exam and earn a certificate for the course. Students can take one individual course subject for one month, or take twelve subjects over twelve months to be awarded the AHLA Diploma in Hospitality Management. Subjects: Front Office Management Housekeeping Management International Hotel Management Managerial Accounting Human Resources Management Marketing Management Leadership and Management Sales and Marketing Management Technology Management Supervisory Management Convention and Meeting Management Food and Beverage Management Entry requirement: Complete education to the age of 18+; IELTS 4.5 or equivalent. AHLA—HND Conversion Course Student who complete the AHLA Diploma may wish to gain a one year work experience in a UK hotel and to do this they have to “upgrade” their qualification to a Higher National Diploma (HND). This will take a minimum of six months and the student must complete all of the coursework required by Edexcel, the awarding organization.
